The woman who was found dead in a car near Paula Abdul’s Los Angeles home was a former American Idol contestant name was Paula Godspeed. Godspeed was apparently mocked and jeered by the American Idol judges, including Paula Abdul, after her audition performance of Tina Turner’s Proud Woman. The 30-year old was a huge fan of Paula Abdul’s. During her tryouts for the show she shared details about her admiration for Paula Abdul, telling Ryan Seacrest:

“I really like Paula Abdul a lot. She’s really cool.”

“I’m a really big fan, and I made life-sized drawings of Paula. I’ve been drawing ever since I was a little kid, and my first drawing was of Paula Abdul.”

According to Los Angeles police Capt. James Miller Ms. Goodspeed’s mother had reported her daughter missing and expressed concern that the woman might be suicidal.”

“The sheriffs determined that Ms. Goodspeed may be up in the vicinity by Paula Abdul’s house. Our officers discovered her vehicle parked on the street, and found her inside. She was unresponsive to officers.”

The sheriff said the vehicle in which Ms. Godspeed died had been parked a few doors down from Paula Abdul’s house and had a photo of Paula Abdul hanging from the rear view mirror.

Paula Adul has expressed shock and sadness over the incident and sent her best wishes to Paula Godspeed’s family.
