Why did Steven Kelsey kill his sister Jesika?

On New Year’s Day 17-year old Jesika Kelsey was found stabbed to death in her bed. Police arrested her 19-year old brother Steven Kelsey and charged him with her murder after they found a bloody knife in a backpack he abandoned at a Wendy’s restaurant.
The latest reports on the case allege that Steven Kelsey has confessed to killing his sister, telling police “I got a knife and I killed her”. Steven Kelsey also allegedly told police he had sex his sister as she lay dying.
Friends of the family express shock over the crime. They describe Jesika Kelsey as a beautiful, caring girl. They say the family celebrated the New Year together and everything was normal. So why did Steven Kelsey kill his sister Jesika?
Perhaps Steven Kelsey is schizophrenic or bi-polar. Perhaps he found himself feeling attracted to his beautiful sister and in his confused state, under the influence of his schizophrenia or bi-polar disorder he attacked her. Then again he had sex with her while she was dying. That doesn’t seem to be an action that schizophrenia or bi-polar disorder would explain. That seems like the purely depraved, sinister action of a truly evil sociopath. But if you’re that depraved, sinister and sociopathic are you able to hide the fact for 19 years?
Maybe there was some history of abuse there. Steven Kelsey could have been sexually abusing his sister. He might have gone to her room to resume the abuse and she might have found the courage for the first time to threaten to scream or go tell their parents. Who knows? Unless Steven Kelsey shares the reason for his choice to kill his sister, all anyone can do is speculate at this point.
Steven Kelsey is facing two charges of first degree and felony murder. It’s possible even he will not be able to explain why he killed his sister.

No…he never malested her….this whole thing is completely unlike him….there can’t be a motive…I knew him….he must have just went crazy…because the guy I knew would never do this

i totally agree with james i knew his as well and he wasnt the type to sexually harm girls…in fact he had more respect for girls than most men you will meet.and as far as motive goes it could be anything although i doubt that there was one.another thing to is he was a gentle soul that never reacted to any type of abuse or harrasment.unless someone or something pushed him over the edge he wouldnt of done this.he also has been talking about going into the army the whole time that i have known him.i personally think that he just exploded and lost his temper and as james said he must of just totally went crazy because he was never like this before

please don’t use “trailer trash” as the reason for this horrific “thing” that happened. she lived there, as well, and just because someone lives in a mobile home doesn’t make them less of a person. we can only pray that whatever demon possessed him, whether it be drugs or psychosis, or what EVER, that his parents can come to deal with this most devastatiing event. i cannot imagine being the parents and being able to go on with living after this. please pray that they may be able to cope with this tragedy, because this horribly evil thing will never go away.
