The $100,000 fish

I’m going to go ahead and assume that by the time the Oma bluefin tuna, sold at auction in Japan for $100,000 dollars, has been completely consumed, the two Sushi bar owners who paid 9.63 million yen ($104,700) for the 282-pound (128-kilogram) premium tuna will have made their money back and then some. I’d love to try to a piece of this fish just to satisfy my own curiosity about the justification for charging the price of a cheap house for something that’s going to be consumed and expelled as waste.
