The Black Friday shooting at the Palm Desert Toys ‘R’ Us store that left Alejandro Moreno and Juan Meza dead started with a brawl between the two women the men had accompanied to the store.

According to what eyewitnesses have told police, a fight broke out between two women near the checkout. One woman apparently started punching the other causing her to bleed from the nose. The other was reportedly fighting back when the man she was with made it known that he had a gun by pulling the weapon halfway out of his pocket.

At this point, the other man whipped out his own gun and the two soon began firing at each other, one running for the exit while firing back at the other who was chasing after him and firing.

Some witnesses report that the two women between whom the altercation started had children with them. The identities of the two women have not been released and it is not known whether or not they will be facing any charges for the alarm they caused or reckless endangerment of children and innocent shoppers.

The 34-year old man trampled to death when ‘Black Friday’ shoppers burst through the doors of a Walmart store in Valley Stream has been identified as Jdimytai Damour.

Police are presently reviewing surveillance camera video in the hope of being able to identify the people who trampled Jdimytai Damour to death.

It is possible that some of the people who trampled Jdimytai Damour could face criminal charges, however, police have admitted that it will be difficult to identify individual shoppers in Friday’s video.

Damour was a resident of Queens, New York. He was a temp worker at the store.

Witnesses say that after some shoppers were told the store was closing because someone had been trampled and killed they were irate and shouting about how they had been waiting in line since the day before. They did not show any sign of concern about the man who had lost his life. They only cared about being able to shop.

Toys ‘R’ Us shooting victims identified

Saturday, November 29th, 2008

Police have identified the two men who shot and killed each other at a Palm Desert Toys ‘R’ Us store on Black Friday as 39-year old Alejandro Moreno, and 28-year old Juan Meza.

Perhaps their families are mourning the loss but most other people are breathing a sigh of relief that Alejandro Moreno of Desert Hot Springs, California, and Juan Meza of Cathedral City, California are no longer part of the gene pool. Call me cruel but I find it difficult to feel the remotest degree of sympathy for the loss of these particular two lives.

Think of how innocent people could have been hurt because these two men thought nothing of taking guns with them to a toy store and pulling out their guns, aiming the weapons at each other and pulling the trigger to solve whatever dispute had erupted between them? Does the world really need people like this around? Are we not really better off without Alejandro Moreno and Juan Meza? It might sound cruel to say such a thing, but these two men clearly did not value their own lives or the lives of the innocent people who could have been harmed yesterday in Palm Desert. Why should the loss of their lives be considered a tragedy?

The Alejandro Moreno mentioned here is not the famous Venezuelan soccer player.

Friday, November 28th, 2008

Black Friday shoppers at a Palm Desert, California Toys ‘R’ Us store were given a scare when gunfire broke out and two other shoppers shot and killed each other.  Sgt. Dennis Gutierrez of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department explained to reporters, “We got a call of shots fired. We went in the store and we have two dead individuals.”

Witnesses claim that a dispute broke out between the victims. Some thought the dispute might be over a toy, however there has been no confirmation of this by police.

The shooting took place at 72314 Highway 111 shortly before 11:30 a.m. Police are not looking for any  additional suspects. The two men who have died are believed to be the only individuals who were involved in the shooting.

Walmart employee dies in Black Friday store rush

Friday, November 28th, 2008

A Wal-Mart employee lost his life and four other people sustained injuries when shoppers rushed to get into a Walmart store in Valley Stream to take advantage of “Black Friday”.

Reports claim that at least 2000 shoppers were waiting outside for the store to open at 5AM. When the doors opened the crowd began to push and shove their way into the store. The Walmart employee who lost his life, a 34 year-old male, was knocked to the ground during the rush. He is said to have suffered a heart attack. He was rushed to a nearby hospital and pronounced dead.

Among the four other people injured during the stampede was a 28-year-old pregnant woman. Earlier reports suggested the woman had suffered a miscarriage; however new reports cite doctors as stating that the woman’s baby is just fine.

As a result of the death of the Walmart employee and injuries sustained by the four shoppers, the store was closed to incoming shoppers.

Jimmy Overby, a co-worker of the man who died, told the New York Daily News:

“He [the employee who died] was bum-rushed by 200 people.”

“They took the doors off the hinges. He was trampled and killed in front of me. They took me down too … I literally had to fight people off my back.”

Update: The victim has been identified as Jdimytai Damour.
