2-year old Geidy Rivera is in serious condition at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center following a Christmas eve crash that left her mother Christina Rivera-Morales, 26, her father Benito Rivera, 28, and her 4-year old sister Bridney dead.

Geidy Rivera suffered burns to her back and legs in the crash that claimed the lives of her family.

The family were on their way to Queens for a 2-week vacation with the brother of Benito. Police say that around 2AM their pickup crashed into the median in the eastbound lanes of the turnpike in South Londonderry township, and the vehicle’s lights were off so the driver of an oncoming tractor-trailer never saw it. The tractor-trailer crashed into the pick-up, went up an embankment and flipped over. The pickup burst into flames. Benito, Christina and Bridney Rivera all died of burns according to Pennsylvania medical examiner Dr. Jeff Yocum.

Geidy Rivera was pulled from the wreckage by bystanders. The tractor-trailer driver, John Sellers, was unharmed.
