Saturday morning at 46th Street and Broadway in New York City

It’s raining in New York right now. People are walking back and forth up and down 46th street and Broadway. I am watching them from the camera that’s perched 10 feet off the ground above the 47th Digital Store. The Times Square camera gives an interesting viewpoint of the sidewalk and street. I can see TGI Friday’s straight ahead. There are a couple of phone booths and some mail deposit boxes at the corner of the sidewalk.

I’ve been watching the scene off and on for about a half-hour now, looking for interesting things to capture and write about. I can tell the rain has picked up since I first discovered the Times Square Cam on earthcam.com because more umbrellas have gone up and people are pulling the hoods of their jackets over their heads. I can also see that the sidewalk is getting spotted from drops of water.

Earlier I wrote about the two Asian ladies who stood up waving at the camera. They were the most interesting thing to happen so far. The scene is mostly just of people walking back and forth on the sidewalk and cars driving by on the street. It’s New York so naturally there are a lot of yellow cabs. I’ve seen more yellow cabs than any other kind of vehicle I think. I’ll keep watching to see if anything interesting happens, but so far people are just busy going about their business.
