Man who slit throat of girlfriend’s Chihuahua denied bond

Houston, Texas - 29-year old Adam Lemus is being charged with aggravated assault, animal cruelty and criminal mischief. The charges stem from a November 30th incident involving his ex-girlfriend Katy.
Police allege that Lemus broke into his ex-girlfriend Katy’s apartment on Sunday and killed her Chihuahua by slitting the dog’s throat. He then ransacked the girl’s apartment. The girlfriend was not at home at the time but returned to find Lemus still in her apartment. Lemus reportedly assaulted the girl then left.
Lemus went before a judge today and was denied bond on the assault charge. On the charge of animal cruelty bond was set at $100,000.
Lemus also uses the alias Jose Juan Ramirez and is believed to be in the country illegally.
