Girls are like apples on trees

Stumbled across this interesting page with what I guess is a poem that likens girls unto apples on trees. It says something to the effect that the best apples [girls] are at the top of the tree, but the boys are too afraid of falling and getting hurt so they don’t climb up. Instead they settle for the rotten apples they can just pick up off the ground since that’s easier. You can read the poem(?) in its entirety here.
You know, it’s a cute poem and I totally agree that girls should be encouraged to wait for the guy who is going to treat them like the gem they are instead of settling for a guy who will treat them like just another conquest; but I take umbrage on behalf of the so-called rotten apples, the “easy” fruit. In the first place, they had no control over rotting if you’re going to use the apple tree analogy. Nature made them rot; and the “good” apples won’t stay good now will they? They’re going to rot and fall too. Furthermore, the rotten apples were once just as good as the “good” apples at the top of the tree.
At the end of the day it comes down to some apples rotting before others but all the apples will rot just the same way all the apples were once good apples. None of the apples therefore is worth any more or less than the others; and good or rotten the apples all end up waste.
