Pennsylvania woman stabbed to death by her boyfriend

Amber Jackson had her whole life ahead of her according to Upper Darby police superintendent Michael Chitwood. The 22-year old was a part-time student at Delaware County Community College. She was also a communications dispatcher for the Pennsylvania State Police; but on Tuesday night Amber Jackson became the victim of a brutal homicide. Police found her body in an upstairs bedroom of her family’s home. She had been, in Chitwood’s words, “brutally slaughtered.

Amber Jackson’s killer is believed to be her on-again off-again boyfriend since High School, Frederick Cleaveland. He was found lying on the kitchen floor in the home where he so brutally stabbed Amber Jackson that he almost cut her head right off her body. Police believe Cleaveland, 22, was upset that Jackson had moved out of the apartment where she used to live with him. He didn’t want their relationship to be over.

Cleaveland might have attempted to kill himself after killing Jackson. He was found with self-inflicted stab wounds to the chest and neck. He is currently at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Police plan to arraign him at his bedside as soon as possible. He is facing charges of first, second and third degree murder, homicide and burglary among other charges. More from MSNBC
