Breadman TR875 Breadmaker, 2 LB

Bread-making looks and sounds like it can be loads of fun. We’re thinking about getting started making our own bread; but we’re definitely not interested in having to knead dough or do anything complicated like that, so we’ll be buying a bread-making machine.

We’ve been shopping around for something shiny and high tech because we like shiny high tech appliances. Why do we like shiny, high-tech appliances? Well, because they’re shiny and high tech. What other reason is needed? Nice to look and loaded with digital functions that do everything for you at the press of a button. What’s not to like?

We spent a good while trying to find a bread maker that was the ultimate in high tech; but it seems geeks don’t bake bread because they’re apparently not spending too much time trying to design a bread machine so phenomenal it retails in the 5 digit range.

Breadman breadmakerAfter evaluating the specs for a number of bread-making machines and reading the customer reviews, we’ve decided on the Breadman TR875 Breadmaker, 2 LB.. This bread maker is available on Amazon for $79.54 which is $10.45 off the retail price of $89.99. Although we wouldn’t exactly describe it as ultra shiny and high tech, it stood apart from the other available bread makers in design.

The following customer review makes us eager to get our Breadman so we too can know the pleasure of waking up to the wonderful aroma of freshly baked bread.

In my circle of acquaintances, a bread machine is something that you buy - use it once - and then put it in a cupboard. So I wondered if a machine at this price point would be just another piece of junk waiting for next yard sale. After 3 months - using this device every other day - I have to express my admiration for how well designed and practical it is. I have particular admiration for how intuitive the time setup is for delayed baking - which is just about the only kind we do. Waking up to the smell of fresh bread baking has been a nice addition to our lives. But it all comes down to the bread, and - so far - the TR875 has been a solid performer. I would buy another one of these in a heartbeat. (link to comment)
