17-year old Jesika Kelsey is dead and her 19-year old brother Steven Kelsey is being charged with her murder. Jesika Kelsey was found lying dead in a pool of blood in her bed on New Year’s Day. Her mother had gone to check on her after police showed up at her door looking for her brother.

It started when a Wendy’s employee found a backpack and a coat abandoned at the restaurant. The employee looked inside the backpack and discovered knives and what appeared to be blood. Alarmed, the employee alerted the manager who called police. Police searched the bag and found a military ID with the name Steven Kelsey inside. (Steven Kelsey was home on leave from Army basic training)

Upon arrival at the Highland Greens Mobile Home Park police questioned Steven Kelsey’s mother who told them that her son was out running errands. It was shortly thereafter that Jesika Kelsey’s body was found and a connection was made between the bloody knives in the backpack and her death. She had been stabbed multiple times.
